A major terror strike was averted by troops of the Chinar Corps by neutralising a 14.5 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Wednesday.

The IED, packed with high explosives, was recovered near Chitragam in Shopian.
The Chinar Corps wrote on X: “In a joint operation with @JmuKmrPolice, averted a major terror incident by recovering and neutralising an IED near Chitragam in Gen area Zainapora, Shopian. The 14.5 kg IED, packed with high explosives and fitted with a remote trigger, was surgically handled and destroyed in a controlled manner”.
